Wednesday, I attended two events offered. The first event regarded the Peace Corps with a prominent speaker, Dr. Jody Olsen, Deputy Director of the Peace Corps. Waking up to go listen to a speech at 9 o'clock in the morning wasn't my idea of an ideal day. My views changed once Dr. Olsen began speaking, she did a fabulous job and I got a real feel for what the Peace Corps was all about. She talked for about 45 minutes and did an excellent job of explaining what was all involved in the Peace Corps. She answered questions anyone had and was thorough. I then attended the poster event in the KU Ballroom. It was interesting to see all the different projects and how I could relate to some of them. It must have taken a lot of time, effort and preparation for those projects; I think they did an excellent job.
